Low Profile Impact Flow Meters were first developed for weighing Frac Sand in screening plants. These plants normally run with several screens running full out at 30 tph. These screens are fed from one source then branch off to individual screens. The branch feeder rates can be easily adjusted to maintain a continuous maximum flow rate to the individual screens.
Some Frac Sand applications use coolers in their process. This flow rate information from the cooler can be used to automatically or manually adjust the cooler process settings.
The Low Profile Solids Impact Flow Meters contain the flow of the material through it, while placing pressure on a load cell in proportion to the amount of material passing through it.
The 4” vertical height of the Low Profile Impact Flow Meters make it very attractive when retrofitting into existing processes. If building new, the lower profile also reduces the height of the machine the scale is part of.
When sizing these scales, particle size, flow rate and material density determine the size of scale we propose from our off the shelf scales. When the application warrants, modifications can be made to our standard products or a new custom approach can be engineered. When product temperatures are elevated, options are provided to protect the load cell.
Low Profile Solids Impact Flow Meters have proven themselves in applications requiring 1500 Lbs/Hour of .5”, foam rubber particles at 25 lbs per cubic foot to Frac Sand weighing 100lbs/Cubic foot. Accuracies are dependent on the application.
